Metra Construction Panels are almost impossible to dent. At 640kg/m³ density, these heavy duty walls will stand up to the knocks of everyday life, including children, pets and moving house.

With large panel sizes and fewer joins, you get a high-quality smooth finish and less nail popping. The panels are also self-bracing, which means there is less movement from settling over time.

Durability

Metra Construction Panels are almost impossible to dent. At 640kg/m3 density, these heavy duty walls will stand up to the knocks of everyday life, including children, pets and moving house.
With large panel sizes and fewer joins, you get a high-quality smooth finish and less nail popping. The panels are also self-bracing, which means there is less movement from settling over time.

Space

The old style of plasterboard over timber framing is a bulky way to build. Metra Construction Panels are so efficient, you can get up to 7.5% more useable floor space.

To put that into perspective, in a space where you’d once fit 20 terraced units, you can now fit 21.

Our engineered panels are made from NZ pine wood fibre bonded with specially formulated resins providing repeatable superior quality. The Metra Construction Panel System provides a strong wall bracing system that exceeds the bracing requirements of the New Zealand Building Code and are suitable for use in very high wind zones, so you can be certain your building will stand up to Mother Nature.

Building with the Metra Construction Panel System speeds up construction by up to a massive 40-60%. You could complete a 160m² home in as little as six weeks.

Once the floor structure is complete, the wall and ceiling panels are delivered and can be installed within three days. Metra Construction Panels are BRANZ Appraised to cope with up to 28 days of weather exposure, with the roof installed as soon as possible (Metra Panel recommends within 14 days). This allows for ‘building inside out’ – once the ceiling is installed, internal trades can start while the roof goes on! And there’s less downtime for bad weather days.

Windows and doors are pre-cut into the panels, so joinery can be manufactured earlier in the process and be ready to install as soon as the walls go up, getting the house to lock-up stage incredibly fast and saving weeks on the build time.

Metra Panels don’t require much sanding, plastering or stopping and are pre-primed. Paint can be applied directly to the panels, achieving up to a level 4 finish.
