Accreditations

​Upon completion of a $1.9 million contract for the Department of Corrections we obtained a “HomeStar rating of 7” being the highest in NZ to-date. This is an award given in recognition of creating a healthier, more comfortable and more energy efficient space. This is supported by the “LifeMark” award and is one that has been specifically designed for ease of use in the present, whilst ensuring it can be easily adapted in the future as the occupants need change.

Why Metrapanel?

  • Using the BRANZ appraised Metrapanel wall, flooring and ceiling system provides us with exceptional durability and strength making this product our key to constructing and transporting homes around the North Island.
  • Speed of Construction is unique. We are able to complete a 95sqm house within four weeks to “turn key” stage. As a result of this streamlined process we are able to provide our customer’s with a high quality, cost effective home.
  • Our product can be customised to any design, modified or added onto at a later date, for a very minimal cost. PLB are a preferred supplier for Housing New Zealand and have an established alliance with the Department of Corrections.
  • We also have extensive experience in building for the Ministry of Education.
  • The benefits of building with the Metrapanel system provides HNZC, D.O.C and the M.O.E with superior buildings, custom designed with the added bonus of being able to be transported and relocated if and when required.

​Built Smart is the Transportable Home division of PLB Construction Group

Based in Huntly, Waikato, we're a New Zealand family owned business operating throughout the greater North Island for the past 30 years. We take pride in delivering excellent customer service, professional workmanship with a strong commitment to quality and completing contracts on time and within budget. Values that we carry on today so our clients continue to receive the best results possible. Since we started in 1982, we have built over 700 homes.

Our transportable homes team includes full-time builders, tradesmen, apprentices, a contract manager and qualified subcontractors who are all constantly striving to produce buildings of the highest standard. We realise that every customer has specific needs and requirements for their building projects, and it is our policy to always meet these needs by offering affordable solutions.

To whom it may concern. We are delighted with our [Built Smart] transportable holiday home built by PLB Construction and transported to our section in Raglan. Fiona, Robyn and Philip made the process really easy, and kept us informed of progress all the way through. We did make some alterations to the standard plans but PLB were very flexible and this wasn’t an issue at all for them. The finished product is exactly what we wanted – everything they said they were going to do was done, and we intend to enjoy it for many years to come.

We have built two homes previously over the years, and after those experiences we were very reluctant to go through the process again. However, we are pleased to say that our experience with PLB has been a totally positive one, and not only did it meet all the timelines, but it also came in on budget! We would definitely go to PLB if we need to build again in future.

The use of Metra Panel (instead of stick framing) because of its hard wearing qualities.
